ICT Infrastructure Development

The purpose of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) Infrastructure Development is to promote investment in robust, reliable, secure and affordable ICT infrastructure that supports the provision of multiple applications and services. The key functions are to:

  • Ensure the development of robust, reliable and affordable ICT infrastructure that supports and enables the provision of multiple applications and services to meet the needs of the country and its people, especially regarding efficient and timely service delivery;
  • Ensure that the ICT Infrastructure is adequate, secure and stable;
  • Develop an environment that supports the efficient and effective utilisation of the Radio-frequency spectrum in the Republic;
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the national space programme; and
  • Provide information systems and applications that support the business objectives and processes.
